Review: "In a Violent Nature"
Description
You've brought your tents, lighters, and alcohol so you can primarily enjoy the scary parts, right? You're in good hands there, since Nash's sense of joyous humor is in perfect harmony with the film's great FX makeup, deft staging, and stifling sounds. Depending on the circumstance, the killings can be creative, humorous, grotesque, or breathtaking—pretty much everything you might want. In particular, Aurora's death is outrageous in the best senses and leaves you curious as to how it was accomplished, which is always an exhilarating feeling. To be clear, though, Nature isn't portrayed in any way as funny or appealing to large crowds. Every time you watch anything where it's clear the filmmakers are in love, you can't help but smile maniacally.
